RDC HANDS OVER TRANSPORT EQUIPMENT TO ISINGIRO DISTRICT PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT

President Yoweri Museveni commissioned and handed over agricultural machinery and vehicles to agricultural extension workers to promote agricultural mechanization in the country in Wakiso district on Thursday 7th March 2019.
The consignment that was procured by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) at almost Shs.46 billion included 12 pieces of earth moving equipment, 284 tractors, 126 vehicles allotted to district local governments and 1061 motorcycles for Sub-Counties.

Isingiro district in this lot was allocated one brand new Toyota Hilux double cabin and 16 Motorcycles 16 veterinary officers agriculture officers
The leadership of Isingiro District Local Government yesterday the 20th of March 2019 handed over these transport equipment officially to the district production department that is headed by Mr. Karugaba Aloysius.
In the function that was presided over by the Deputy Resident District Commissioner Mr. Tusiime Gideon that was also graced by the District Chairperson Mr. Kamurali Birungi Jeremiah at the district Head quarters, Kabingo Town Council.
Mr. Tusiime Gideon re-echoed the president's urge of properly utilizing and modernizing agriculture to better the income of this nation. The RDC further urged the officers from the 16 sub-counties that received motorcycles to carefully handle these transport equipment and put them in the right use and avoid using them for personal use other than the intended use of serving the public by supervising, monitoring  as well as teaching the community how to practice modernized agriculture.
He also thanked President Yoweri Museveni for always supporting Isingiro District and urged people who had attended the function to always support government programs.
Isingiro district at least  has for the past 10 years excelled above other districts in the agriculture and production sector in Uganda this making the district the food basket of not only Uganda but also other neighboring nations like Tanzania and Rwanda.

The District Chairperson Mr. Kamurali thanked the district for always doing what is right for the community and urged the Civil servants to continue serving Isingiro diligently as this will improve the district economically and socially.

The Deputy CAO Mr. Ahimbisibwe Christopher urged the Heads of Departments and all Isingiro Staff to always be exemplary to this nation. Mr. Christopher further urged all the staff to always keep time and attend to duty always.
